The employment department’s new office that will address any queries by members of the public in relation to the new COVID-19 Special Leave Regulations, introduced on March 30, 2020, has opened its doors.

These regulations followed President Danny Faure’s announcement made on Monday April 6, 2020.

The office is located on the ground floor of Independence House, Victoria, next to the immigration and civil status customer service. The office went into operation as of yesterday, Tuesday April 7, 2020. Office hours will be from 8.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday, until further notice.

Officers from the employment department will be present to help members of the public.

The main reason for the office is to help members of the public with all enquiries related to the coronavirus special leave, which was put in place in a new regulation on March 30, 2020.

As the employment department is also observing the advice of the public health on social distancing, besides the new office the department has also put in place two hotline to assist with additional information or any queries related to the employment temporary regulation due to COVID-19.

The new hotline numbers are 2823400 and 2804041.
