• Signboard – a sign which provides information or instructions by a combination of shape, colour and a symbol or pictogram which is rendered visible by lighting of sufficient intensity
  
  

Safety Signs

• The Occupational Safety and Health Regulations  require employers to provide specific safety signs whenever there is a risk that has not been avoided or controlled by other means, eg by engineering controls and safe systems of work with the following colours 
  
  
• Blue: Mandatory
• Red : Prohibition
• Green : Information
• Yellow : Warning
