Minister Francourt meets with the Management team of Hilton’s property in Seychelles

The management team of Hilton’s Hotels in Seychelles had a meeting with Minister Francourt on Thursday 14th April 2022, where they presented to the Minister their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programmes of the Hilton’s property.

Present at the meeting were the Executive Director, Office of the Minister, Ms. Veronique Bresson, Director of Special Employment Programmes, Ms. Marinette Freminot, Hilton Area General Manager Mr. Andre Borg, Cluster Human Resources Director Mrs. Julita Jeremie, and Learning and Development Manager of LXR Mango House Ms. Medna Latulipe.

The meeting covered different topics in line with the Hilton Hotels strategic plan. Mrs. Jeremie proudly announced the recent recruitment of two persons living with disabilities in the Housekeeping Department at Hilton Northolme after they have completed a Re-skilling programme for youth living with disabilities. As Cluster HR Director of the Hilton properties, she gave her commitment to the Ministry that as part of the inclusion programme they are planning on recruiting more people living with disabilities at their other 3 properties, namely Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort and Spa, Mango House Seychelles, LXR Hotels & Resorts and Double Tree by Hilton Seychelles.  

Mr. Borg and Ms. Latulipe highlighted the different collaborations that they have with other NGOs to offer support in training and tools. They spoke highly of the school programme under the theme ‘Lospitalite-Lafyerte Sesel’ campaign adopted in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism which is in line with engaging the student at a very young age to show interest in the hospitality industry.

They also presented the list of staff that have successfully been promoted within all four of the Hilton Hotels, including through the Localisation programmes making special mention of the Shannon graduates that are doing exceptionally well.

 

Hilton also shared a new project – Centre for Excellence, where they intend to train about 200 new team members by December 2023. The training will be offered by the company at Hilton Labriz property on Silhouette This is being done in preparation for the opening of new properties.

 

Minister Francourt congratulated the work that they are doing-especially the first step taken in embracing the two persons living with disabilities and she also recommended the other target groups in our society that would love to have such opportunities, which the Ministry itself has embarked on the reskilling programme to support them during their rehabilitation.

The Minister conveyed her support to the structure adopted by Hilton Seychelles in terms of the training strategies and she encouraged the hotel to showcase its success, to which she extended the Ministry’s commitment to assist in any way possible.
