Strategic Plans

The strategic plan of the Department stems from its vision and mission which a priori are the expression of the policies of the Government.

The Government has been mandated by the electorate to serve the country for a period of 5 years. The Government itself sought its mandate from the programme and platform of the Seychelles People Progressive Front (SPPF), articulated in its manifesto. This plan spans a period of five years and it seeks to implement a series of intentions as an expression of the mandate of the Government.

  • To setting up of a Labour Tribunal with a view to modernize our dispute resolution mechanism and to bring more fairness.
  • Introduction of stress management in the workplace as one of the health and safety hazards.
  • Introduce of Dock and Vessels Regulations to tackle and curtail accidents and hazards in the dock sector.
  • Introduce workmen’s compensation to provide assistance to worker in all sectors of the economy in cases of accidents
  • Develop and implement more district based projects as an extension of the project and small business development scheme.
  • Have available a set of guiding documents for the purpose of regulating and monitoring employment of non-Seychellois.
  • Develop and implement number of sensitization Seychellois on the importance of the fishing industry as an employment alternative.
